Seedance 2.5 online: 30-second single takes with native audio, explained
Seedance 2.5 changed one thing that matters more than any benchmark: it renders a continuous 30-second shot with its own sound in a single pass. No stitching, no held frame at the join, no second render to continue the first. Here is how to use it on 2036 Studios, what it costs, and where it falls short.
What is new in 2.5
- Durations of 5, 8, 10, 15 and 30 seconds in one render. The 30-second take is the headline.
- Up to 30 reference images per render, so a character, a set, props and the key beats can all anchor the shot.
- Native audio: dialogue in quotes, sound effects and ambience are composed with the picture.
- Resolutions of 480p and 720p. There is no 1080p or 4K on 2.5 yet; Seedance 2.0 covers those.
What it costs on 2036 Studios
Seedance 2.5 at 720p is 37 credits for 5 seconds, 58 for 8, 73 for 10, 109 for 15 and 218 for the full 30 seconds. At 480p every bracket is cheaper. On the Basic plan a credit is about 5 cents, so a 30-second take is roughly $11, and a 5-second test is under $2. The full table is on the credits page and it is the same price with or without reference images.
How to build a reference pack
The difference between a good 2.5 render and a great one is the pack. Put the hero image first: that slot carries the most weight for identity. Keep one palette and one scale across the whole pack. A close-up drawn in a different style from the wide shots reads as a different world and the model will try to honour both.
Generate the pack on the platform. Images made on 2036 Studios are recognised as platform output and stay sharp as references. For a recurring character, create a character once from text-to-image renders and reuse the @tag in every prompt.
- Hero character, three-quarter view, facing the action.
- Two or three more angles of the same character in the same light.
- The set: one wide, one detail.
- Props and anything with text on it.
- One image per key beat of the shot, in order.
Writing the prompt for one continuous take
Describe the shot as a single camera move with beats in time order, not as a shot list. Name what the camera does, what the subject does, and what we hear. Put dialogue in quotes. If you want realism, say so at the top: photorealistic live-action, not animation. If the clip should start moving from the first frame, write that explicitly; a prompt that never says the action is already happening often opens on a still beat.
When Seedance 2.0 is still the right choice
- You need 1080p or 4K. Only 2.0 renders those.
- You need a video reference. 2.5 takes image references only.
- You want the cheapest possible test. Seedance 2.0 Mini and Fast start at 12 and 19 credits for 5 seconds.
- You are running a Marketing Studio ad format. Those run on Seedance 2.0 because it renders product text reliably.
Longer than 30 seconds
Render two 30-second takes with the same reference pack and join them in Cinema Studio. A hard cut on a white flash or a scene change hides the seam far better than a crossfade. For connected shots on Kling, Story Studio renders up to six shots in one pass with a consistent cast.
Questions, answered
Does Seedance 2.5 render 1080p?+
Not yet. 2.5 offers 480p and 720p. Use Seedance 2.0 for 1080p and 4K.
How long does a 30-second render take?+
Usually several minutes. Long renders finish in the background and land in your library; you do not need to keep the page open.
Can I use my own photo as a character?+
Uploaded photos of real people go through a privacy step before they reach the model. For a sharp, consistent face, create a character from images generated on the platform and use its @tag.
